Amici degli Uffizi

The Amici degli Uffizi card was a real treat when I first moved to Florence! For 60 euro for an individual and 100 euro for a family membership, this card allowed you to visit the Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti, San Marco, the Bargello, the Medici Chapel, and many more for an entire year.

In June of 2015, the card lost the privilege of entrance into all of the museums except the Uffizi. They had forewarned us about the change when we bought it in January. In January of 2016, they have added back, all of the Palazzo Pitti museums, including the Boboli Gardens, as well as the Uffizi.

For residents, even though the card does not have the same value as before, it is still a wonderful treat. You can enter the museums at any time, see a little or a lot, and not feel inclined to spend a whole day. You can see special exhibits, and there are also some guided tours offered to card holders during the year.

If you are interested in buying, or learning more about the card, you can visit the website here.

  1. Thanks Karen – yes this is still a great deal just to miss the queues at Uffizi and so pleased that at least the Pitti is still participating.
I am surprised that the Academia and the New Museum for the Duomo haven’t put together similar membership cards so we can, at least go there as often as we like without queuing. The Academia even tried to tell me that it was against EU regulations to offer membership schemes ……Now that actually might be a reason to leave the EU – I see no other advantages!
