The San Miniato Truffle Festival

I think this has to be my very favorite festival of the year! The San Miniato Truffle Festival takes place the last 3 weekends of November on Saturday and Sunday. We’ve had wonderful weather this November, but usually that’s how we decide which weekend to go. This year we’ve just been busy.

We made it the last weekend, when the weather was colder than it has been, but it was a great day! The crowds were not large and the food, as always was wonderful. Last year we ate at the Hebrew Community enter and decided to do the same again this year. I had truffle risotto which was to die for! Creamy and rich and warm! It was the perfect lunch at a Truffle festival on a cold winter day.

The usual booths and offering were there like cheeses, olives, jams, artisan beers, butter, spreads, and more, and we tasted them all!

San Miniato is only a 40 minute train ride and is a lovely little town. The train of course comes at the bottom of the hill, but there is a bus to take you to the top. This festival is worth planning an entire trip around just to experience it!
