Madonna in Florence

Madonna played a concert in Florence at the Franchi stadium on Saturday, June 16th. Unfortunately, I didn’t go, with ticket prices starting at 70 euro and going as high as 155 euro, but still, Florence is small and she is a big presence. She is staying in the St. Regis, very close to my apartment and has been seen around Florence on a vespa, in the gardens, Uffizi and shopping, of course!
Yesterday I saw 4 police officers on motorcycles come into the piazza and surround her black Range Rover, apparently for an escort to someplace or another. The bus I was waiting for came before I could see what happened. Later in the day though, she made an appearance with some dancers in Piazza Ognissanti, apparently doing a dance video. Afterwards she took a seat in this convertible and made her way around Florence with music blaring and dancing up a storm. Even though I didn’t see her in concert, I felt energized, and came home and blasted Madonna on my IPod until I couldn’t stand it anymore. It’s all very exciting but will end soon, as she has a concert today in Barcelona!

  1. Well…her grandparents and mine are from the same small Italian village, Pacentro in Abruzzo … Not much, huh?

  2. You could certainly see your enthusiasm in the work you write. The arena hopes for even more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe. Always follow your heart.
