Recently while visiting Cortona to attend a party at a friend’s house, we stopped into Molesini. It is an enoteca, wineshop and market that has wine tastings! What better way to get started for the party! Today, there were 4 wine tastings for 5 euro. We tasted a Chianti, a Rosso di Montapulciano, Cortona Syrah, and a Brunello di Montalcino, all excellent of course.

Molesini is located in Piazza Repubblica, 12/15, in the center of Cortona. Every Thursday they have a wine tasting, followed by a dinner at a local restaurant including wine for around 45 euro. The dinners are 5 courses and the tastings highlight a specific vineyard or area of Italy. Reservations are necessary +39 0575 62544. wineshop@molesini-market.com

ummmm … I wanna go! Cortona is “Under the Tuscan Sky” place?
I think you mean “Under the Tuscan Sun” written by Frances Mayes. We never did find Bramasole when we walked around Cartona.
Karen- we were there and stopped during our recent 2012 visit to Cartona. My husband, Gary tells everyone you have to be a billygoat to live there. I don’t know how the elderly do it. That would be one hilltown I would really have to think before moving there!!
